Marketo Welcomes New CEO
In the tech sector, Marketo is seeking to accelerate its growth and has named Steve Lucas CEO. Lucas previously served at SAP, leading its enterprise platforms and analytics department. Virtuozzo has a new CEO in George Karidis, an executive with over 20 years of experience in the software field. Ericsson recently elevated board member Borje Ekholm to president and CEO while remaining a member of the board.
In the consumer world, specialty retailer Lumber Liquidators has promoted Dennis Knowles to CEO, replacing John Presley. Knowles has been the company’s chief operating officer since March 2016. Alexander Ware is the new executive vice president and chief financial officer at Buffalo Wild Wings, a chain with more than 1,200 restaurants. At New York & Company, Michelle Pearlman is leaving the board to become the company’s executive vice president, e-commerce and chief marketing officer.
In life sciences, Foundation Medicine has elected Michael Dougherty to its board of directors. Dougherty comes from Celator Pharmaceuticals, which was recently acquired by Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Two new members have joined the board at Pernix Therapeutics, Graham Miao and Dennis Langer. Biolog, Inc., a leading provider of cell-based phenotypic testing technologies and assays, recently announced two appointments, with David Weber joining the board of directors and life sciences industry veteran Richard Mabe becoming vice president of sales and marketing.
